Heather Rankin (Calgary, AB) finished 3-3 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Rankin defeated Kristy McDonald (Winnipeg, MB) 10-1, then won 11-2 against Sandy Comeau (Moncton, NB). Rankin went on to lose 8-2 against Marie-France Larouche (Quebec City, PQ). Rankin lost 7-6 to Stefanie Lawton (Saskatoon, SK) where Rankin responded with a 8-4 win over Marie Christianson (Charlottetown, PEI). Rankin went on to lose 9-3 against Suzanne Birt (Charlottetown, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.

. For week of the event schedule, Rankin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Rankin ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
