Bob Ursel (Kelowna, BC) finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ursel defeated Darren Smale (Kamloops, BC) 6-4, then won 4-1 against Ken Watson (Surrey, BC). Ursel went on to lose 7-5 against Randy Ferbey (Edmonton, AB). Ursel responded with a 6-4 win over Japan's Yusuke Morozumi. Ursel won 7-4 against Kevin Koe (Edmonton, AB). Ursel went on to lose 7-0 against Ferbey. Ursel responded with a 6-3 win over Dan Petryk (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Ursel earned 14.250 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the PriceWaterhouseCoopers Westcoast Curling Classic. For week of the event schedule, Ursel did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Ursel ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
