Glenn Howard (Coldwater, ON) won 6-4 over Kevin Koe (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the World Cup of Curling, held October 22 - 25, 2009 in Mississauga, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Howard won 5-4 over Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) in the semifinals of the 2009 World Cup of Curling in Mississauga, Ontario; and won 8-5 over Andy Kapp (Fuessen, GER) in the quarterfinals. of the 2009 World Cup of Curling in Mississauga, Ontario;
 
Howard finished 6-0 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Howard defeated Kapp 9-5, then won 9-3 against Ulrik Schmidt (Copenhagen, DEN) and 8-3 against David Murdoch (Scotland, UK). Howard won 4-1 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL), then won 6-5 against John Shuster (Duluth, MN, USA) and 8-5 against Switzerland's Markus Eggler in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the World Cup of Curling Championship title, Howard earned 40.000 world rankings points along with the $24,000CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Howard did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Howard ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
