McEwen responded with a 5-2 win over Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN). McEwen went on to lose 5-2 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.

. For week 8 of the event schedule, McEwen did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 6th place on the World Ranking Standings with 208.280 total points. McEwen ranks 7th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 58.570 points earned so far this season.
