Duncan Fernie (Perth, SCO) lost 6-5 to Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Ramada Perth Masters, held January 6 - 9, 2011 in Perth, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Fernie won 4-3 over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2011 Ramada Perth Masters in Perth, Scotland; and won 3-2 over Hammy McMillan (Stranraer, SCO) in the quarterfinals.
 
Fernie finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fernie defeated Scotland's Paul Stevenson 3-1, then won 5-4 against Switzerland's Patrick Vuille. Fernie went on to lose 7-2 against Edin. Fernie responded with a 5-3 win over Scotland's Iain Watt. Fernie won 5-3 against Scotland's Neil Joss. Fernie went on to lose 5-4 against Ewan MacDonald (Perth, SCO). Fernie responded with a 5-4 win over Switzerland's Patrick Vuille in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Ramada Perth Masters, Fernie take home 12.100 world rankings points along with the $5,263CDN prize. For week 18 of the event schedule, Fernie did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Fernie ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
