Scott Bitz (Regina, SK) won 7-2 over Mark Herbert (Moose Jaw, SK) in the Final of the Horizon Laser Vision Center Classic, held September 30 - October 3, 2011 at the Tartan Curling Club in Regina, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Bitz won 5-1 over Al Schick (Regina, SK) in the semifinals of the 2011 Horizon Laser Vision Center Classic in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 6-4 over Shawn Joyce (Saskatoon, SK) in the quarterfinals.
Bitz finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bitz defeated Matt Willerton (Edmonton, AB) 1-0, then won 5-1 against Brent Goeres (Regina, SK) and 4-3 against Jason Krupski (Whitewood, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Horizon Laser Vision Center Classic Championship title, Bitz earned 5.250 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 54th place overall with 27.890 total points. Bitz ranks 52nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 5.250 points earned so far this season.
