Wimmer finished 2-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wimmer defeated Gord Thompson (Stroud, ON) 8-3, then went on to lose 4-2 against Tim Morrison (Brooklin, ON). Wimmer responded with a 8-1 win over Tim Belcourt (Elmvale, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the COMCO Cash Spiel, Wimmer take home 2.450 world rankings points along with the $1,800CDN prize.
