To advance to the championship game, Ulsrud won 5-4 over Peter de Cruz (Geneva, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2013 Swiss Cup Basel in Basel, Switzerland; and won 7-3 over Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI) in the quarterfinals. of the 2013 Swiss Cup Basel in Basel, Switzerland;
Ulsrud finished 4-0 in the 40-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ulsrud defeated Christian Moser (Uitikon, SUI) 7-1, then won 7-6 against Andrey Drozdov (Moscow, RUS) and 5-3 against Marcus Hasselborg (Sundsvall, SWE). Ulsrud won 9-3 against Italy's Simone Gonin in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Swiss Cup Basel Championship title, Ulsrud earned 22.150 world rankings points along with the $15,892CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 9th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 157.345 total points. Ulsrud ranks 6th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 52.920 points earned so far this season.
