In their opening game, Liu lost 12-5 to Allison Pottinger (St. Paul, USA), droppimg another game, 6-3 to Binia Feltscher (Flims, SUI) where Liu responded with a 11-5 win over Anna Kubeskova (Praha, CZE). Liu won 8-6 against Ji-Sun Kim (Gyeong gi do, KOR), then won 8-7 against Kerry Barr (Edinburgh, SCO) and 9-5 against Evita Regza (Riga, LAT). Liu won 6-4 against Imogen Oona Lehmann (Garmisch-Partenkirchen, GER), then won 9-3 against Madeleine Dupont (Hvidovre, DEN). Liu went on to lose 10-2 against Anna Sidorova (Moscow, RUS). Liu lost 10-5 to Margaretha Sigfridsson (Harnosand, SWE). Liu lost 6-4 to Rachel Homan (Ottawa, CAN) in their final qualifying round match.
Liu earned 12.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 32 of the event schedule, Liu did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Liu ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
