Pahl finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Pahl defeated Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI) 7-2, then went on to lose 6-4 against Mick Lizmore (Edmonton, AB). Pahl responded with a 7-3 win over Shawn Donnelly (Edmonton, AB). Pahl went on to lose 7-2 against Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB). Pahl responded with a 5-1 win over Robert Schlender (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Pahl earned 5.275 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the HDF Insurance Shoot-Out, moving up 121 spots the World Ranking Standings into 121st place overall with 6.088 total points. Pahl ranks 18th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 5.275 points earned so far this season.
