Mari Motohashi (Aomori, JPN) won 7-5 over Tiffany Game (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the Avonair Cash Spiel, held October 3 - 5, 2014 at the Avonair Curling Club in Edmonton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Motohashi won 8-6 over Nicky Kaufman (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2014 Avonair Cash Spiel in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and won 4-1 over Kelsey Rocque (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals.

Motohashi finished 2-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Motohashi defeated Chana Martineau (Edmonton, AB) 6-0, then won 6-4 against Jodi Marthaller (Lethbridge, AB). Motohashi went on to lose 8-7 against Kaufman in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Avonair Cash Spiel Championship title, Motohashi earned 3.250 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 9 spots the World Ranking Standings into 64th place overall with 11.591 total points. Motohashi ranks 39th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.250 points earned so far this season.
