Laycock finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Laycock defeated Jessi Wilkinson (Edmonton, AB) 8-4, then won 7-4 against Jeff Hartung (Langenburg, SK) and 6-4 against Jamie King (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Direct Horizontal Drilling Fall Classic, Laycock take home 11.935 world rankings points along with the $9,000CDN prize, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 12th place overall with 121.382 total points.
