Brock Virtue (Calgary, AB) finished 3-3 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Virtue defeated Rick McKague (Edmonton, AB) 7-1, then went on to lose 4-3 against Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB). Virtue responded with a 7-1 win over Soo-Hyuk Kim (Gang Won, KOR). Virtue won 6-4 against Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN). Virtue went on to lose 6-2 against Jamie King (Edmonton, AB). Virtue lost 8-7 to Mario Freiberger (Zug, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.

. For week 7 of the event schedule, Virtue did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 33rd to 34th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 35.187 total points. Virtue ranks 42nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 5.275 points earned so far this season.
