Michel finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Michel defeated Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) 4-3, then won 6-3 against Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB). Michel went on to lose 5-2 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Michel responded with a 8-4 win over Danny Sherrard (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Michel earned 7.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Pomeroy Inn & Suites Prairie Showdown, remaining in 12th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 1.95 after improving upon their best so far this season. Michel ranks 10th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 107.780 points earned so far this season.
