Zang responded with a 10-3 win over Ewan MacDonald (Perth, SCO). Zang went on to lose 7-6 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
Zang earned 8.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
