Koivula finished 4-3 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koivula lost 7-2 to Patrick Gelinas (Mattawa, NONT), then responded with a 5-4 win over Tanner Horgan (Sudbury, NONT). Koivula won 7-6 against Robbie Gordon (Sudbury, NONT), then won 7-6 against Dylan Johnston (Thunder Bay, ON) and 8-6 against Mike Assad (Geraldton, NONT). Koivula went on to lose 9-2 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, NONT). Koivula lost 7-0 to Chandler in their final qualifying round match.
Koivula earned 6.566 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Northern Ontario Travelers Championship. For week 26 of the event schedule, Koivula did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Koivula ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
