Gaku Suzuki (Sapporo, JPN) finished 4-4 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Suzuki lost 8-5 to Japan's Junpei Kanda, droppimg another game, 9-3 to Shinya Abe (Sapporo, JPN) where Suzuki responded with a 7-3 win over Minoru Kusaka (Aomori, JPN). Suzuki won 8-2 against Yasumoto Natsuizaka (Karuizawa, JPN), then won 7-5 against Kanya Shimizun (Furano, JPN). Suzuki went on to lose 7-4 against Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN). Suzuki responded with a 7-6 win over Japan's Ryo Wakabayashi. Suzuki went on to lose 13-4 against Japan's Ryo Ogihara in their final qualifying round match.

Suzuki earned 1.995 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 320 spots the World Ranking Standings into 405th place overall with 1.995 total points. Suzuki ranks 344th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 1.995 points earned so far this season.
