Mick Lizmore (Calgary, AB) finished 3-3 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lizmore lost 7-5 to SooHyuk Kim (Gangwon, KOR), droppimg another game, 5-3 to Kody Hartung (Saskatoon , SK) where Lizmore responded with a 5-4 win over Jason Ackerman (Regina, SK). Lizmore won 6-4 against Brady Scharback (Saskatoon, SK), then won 5-3 against Ted Appelman (Edmonton, AB). Lizmore went on to lose 6-5 against Bruce Korte (Saskatoon , SK) in their final qualifying round match.

Lizmore earned 3.860 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, dropping 3 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 40th place overall with 109.504 total points. Lizmore ranks 59th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 15.618 points earned so far this season.
