In their opening game, Scharback lost 10-2 to Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB), droppimg another game, 8-4 to Shaun Meachem (Regina, SK) where Scharback responded with a 6-0 win over Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB). Scharback went on to lose 6-4 against Mick Lizmore (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
