In their opening game, Ginter defeated Doug Kimmie (Taylor, BC) 7-3, then went on to lose 7-3 against Scott Webb (Peace River, AB). Ginter lost 5-0 to Kevin Hrab (Fort St. John, BC) where Ginter responded with a 6-5 win over Darrel Veiner (Dawson Creek, BC). Ginter went on to lose 6-4 against Kimmie in their final qualifying round match.

Ginter earned 0.448 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 66 spots the World Ranking Standings into 455th place overall with 0.673 total points. Ginter ranks 274th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 0.448 points earned so far this season.
