Veronica Smith (Charlottetown, PEI) qualified for the 2016 Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 9-2 against Mary-Anne Arsenault (Halifax, NS). of the 2016 Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel in Moncton, New Brunswick;

Smith finished 3-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Smith defeated Nancy McConnery (Dartmouth, NS) 8-7, then won 7-6 against Julie McEvoy (Halifax, NS). Smith went on to lose 5-4 against Melissa Adams (Fredericton, NB). Smith lost 4-3 to Arsenault where Smith responded with a 6-4 win over Laurie Donaher (Moncton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.

Smith earned 9.332 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel, moving up 74 spots the World Ranking Standings into 147th place overall with 10.809 total points.
