Un-Chi Gim (Gyeonggi-do, KOR) lost 10-4 to Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) in the Final of the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic, held September 28 - October 1, 2017 at the Vernon Curling Club in Vernon, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Gim won 6-5 over Chelsea Carey (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2017 Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada; and won 7-4 over Val Sweeting (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Gim finished 4-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gim defeated Kelsey Rocque (Edmonton, AB) 7-5, then won 5-2 against Kelly Shimizu (Richmond, BC) and 6-1 against Kesa Van Osch (Nanaimo, BC). Gim went on to lose 6-5 against Diane Gushulak (New Westminister, BC). Gim responded with a 7-5 win over Casey Scheidegger (Lethbridge, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic, Gim take home 40.188 world rankings points along with the $6,900CDN prize, moving up 7 spots the World Ranking Standings into 33rd place overall with 150.054 total points. Gim ranks 19th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 59.226 points earned so far this season.
