In their opening game, Carlson/McLean lost 6-5 to Sherry Just/Ryan Deis (Saskatoon, SK), then responded with a 8-5 win over Hyeji Jang/Ki Jeong Lee (Uiseong, KOR). Carlson/McLean won 10-5 against Monica Walker/Jason Smith (St. Paul, MN), then won 9-2 against Sarah Anderson/Sean Beighton (Seattle, WA). Carlson/McLean went on to lose 8-3 against Jamie Sinclair/Korey Dropkin (Blaine, USA). Carlson/McLean lost 6-4 to Walker/Smith in their final qualifying round match.
