To advance to the championship game, Sluchinski won 10-7 over Jeremy Harty (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2017 McKee Homes Fall Curling Classic in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada; and won 9-4 over Rob Johnson (Calgary, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 McKee Homes Fall Curling Classic in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada;
Sluchinski finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sluchinski defeated Neil Hart (Airdrie, AB) 8-3, then went on to lose 9-1 against Park. Sluchinski responded with a 9-4 win over Thomas Usselman (Edmonton, AB). Sluchinski won 10-4 against Chad Dahlseide (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
