To advance to the championship game, Derick won 7-5 over Cassandra Lewin (Carp, ON) in the semifinals of the 2017 Experience Curling Classic in Baie d'Urfé, Quebec, Canada;

Derick finished 1-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Derick defeated Laura Thomas (Montreal, QC) 9-2, then went on to lose 7-3 against Brigitte Gosselin (Sherbrooke, QC). Derick lost 6-3 to Larouche in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Experience Curling Classic, Derick take home 0.000 world rankings points along with the $720CDN prize. For week 14 of the event schedule, Derick did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 241st to 243rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 0.802 total points.
