Bottcher won 10-4 against Martin Crete (Levis, QC), then won 8-2 against Kirk Muyres (Saskatoon, SK). Bottcher went on to lose 7-6 against Koe. Bottcher responded with a 8-3 win over Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC). Bottcher won 6-4 against Scott McDonald (Kingston, ON). Bottcher went on to lose 8-5 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, CAN) in their final qualifying round match.
