In their opening game, Panoussi defeated Sam Williams (Brisbane, AUS) 8-2, then won 10-3 against Hugh Millikin (Sydney, AUS). Panoussi went on to lose 7-6 against Millikin. Panoussi responded with a 9-5 win over Millikin in their final qualifying round match.
