Ursi Hegner (Uzwil, SUI) finished 4-3 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hegner defeated Annmarie Dubberstein (Chaska, USA) 8-2, then went on to lose 7-5 against Sophie Jackson (Stirling, SCO). Hegner went on to lose 6-5 against Daniela Jentsch (Fuessen, GER). Hegner lost 5-4 to Alina Kovaleva (Saint-Petersburg, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the China Open, Hegner take home 25.369 world rankings points along with the $39,331CDN prize. Hegner move up 8 spots after posting a net gain of 22.274 points improving upon their best 4 results so far this season, ranking 42nd overall with 94.455 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Hegner ranks 19th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 69.690 points earned so far this season.
