Frederic Lawton (Montreal, QC) qualified for the 2018 Experience Curling Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-1 against Jean-Sebastien Roy (Saguenay, QC). of the 2018 Experience Curling Classic in Baie d'Urfé, Quebec, Canada;

Lawton finished 2-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lawton defeated Martin Roy (Gatineau, QC) 12-6, then won 6-5 against Robin Claveau (Montreal, QC). Lawton went on to lose 8-4 against Ankur Barthukur (Montreal, QC) in their final qualifying round match.

Lawton earned 5.034 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Experience Curling Classic, moving up 20 spots the World Ranking Standings into 180th place overall with 16.872 total points.
