Callum Kinnear (Perth, SCO) lost 10-6 to Ross Whyte (Dumfries, SCO) in the Final of the Scottish Junior Curling Championships, held January 23 - 27, 2019 in Aberdeen, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Kinnear won 6-5 over Hamish Gallacher (Dumfries, SCO) in the semifinals of the 2019 Scottish Junior Curling Championships in Aberdeen, Scotland;
Kinnear finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kinnear defeated Blair Haswell (Stranraer, SCO) 9-4, then won 8-2 against Fraser Morton (Dumfries, SCO). Kinnear went on to lose 6-3 against Whyte. Kinnear responded with a 8-3 win over Euan MacDiarmid (Forfar, SCO). Kinnear went on to lose 7-6 against Gallacher. Kinnear responded with a 9-1 win over Orrin Carson (Dumfries, SCO). Kinnear won 8-4 against Angus Bryce (Kelso, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Scottish Junior Curling Championships, Kinnear take home 11.756 world rankings points. For week 24 of the event schedule, Kinnear did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kinnear ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
