In their opening game, Zou lost 6-3 to SooHyuk Kim (Seoul, KOR), droppimg another game, 4-3 to Jason Gunnlaugson (Winnipeg, MB) where Zou responded with a 9-1 win over Junpei Kanda (Tokyo, JPN). Zou went on to lose 6-4 against Yuta Matsumura (Kitami, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Zou earned 1.828 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 2 of the event schedule, Zou did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Zou ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
