Mayu Minami (Sapporo, JPN) qualified for the 2019 Karuizawa International playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 9-2 against Anna Sidorova (Moscow, RUS).

Minami finished 2-3 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Minami lost 6-0 to Seina Nakajima (Nagano, JPN), droppimg another game, 9-2 to Sidorova where Minami responded with a 9-6 win over Jamie Sinclair (Charlotte, NC). Minami went on to lose 5-3 against Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN). Minami responded with a 5-4 win over Misako Kawahira (Obihiro, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Minami earned 8.663 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Karuizawa International, moving up 45 spots the World Ranking Standings into 146th place overall with 14.554 total points. Minami ranks 128th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 13.422 points earned so far this season.
