To advance to the championship game, Fernandez/Mirete won 9-6 over Carmen Perez/Lucas Munuera (Jaca, ESP) in the semifinals of the 2020 Spanish Mixed Doubles Championship in Jaca, Spain; and won 7-5 over Nerea Torralba/Jose Manuel Sanguesa (Pirineo, ESP) in the quarterfinals. of the 2020 Spanish Mixed Doubles Championship in Jaca, Spain;

Fernandez/Mirete finished 2-1 in the 22-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fernandez/Mirete defeated Concepcion Repes/Julian Alfonso (Vitoria-Gasteiz, ESP) 13-6, then went on to lose 8-7 against Perez/Munuera. Fernandez/Mirete responded with a 12-4 win over Lydia Garaigordobil/Josu Perlacia (Harrikada, ESP) in their final qualifying round match.
