Sturmay finished 6-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay defeated Daniel Bruce (St. John's, NL) 8-3, then won 10-3 against Niepage and 12-3 against Mitchell Katcher (Brandon, MB). Sturmay won 12-2 against Nicholas Lemieux (St. Catharines, ON). Sturmay went on to lose 6-3 against Matthew Hall (Waterloo, ON). Sturmay responded with a 6-4 win over Manuel. Sturmay won 8-5 against Ryan Grabarczyk (Regina, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their third place finish at the USPORTS - University Curling Championships, Sturmay earn 12.718 world rankings points.
