Tabata finished 6-2 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tabata defeated Asuka Kanai (Karuizawa, JPN) 7-3, then won 9-3 against Japan's Miori Nakamura and 11-1 against Yuki Shibuto (Hiroshima, JPN). Tabata went on to lose 8-6 against Sayaka Yoshimura (Sapporo, JPN). Tabata responded with a 8-5 win over Kitazawa. Tabata won 9-4 against Yuna Kotani (Fujiyoshida, JPN). Tabata went on to lose 10-4 against Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN). Tabata responded with a 9-2 win over Kana Ogawa (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Tabata earned 14.844 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the Japan Curling Championships, moving up 53 spots the World Ranking Standings into 108th place overall with 19.907 total points.
