Hayato Sato (Sapporo, JPN) won 6-5 over Brent Pierce (Kelowna, BC) in the Final of the Kamloops Crown of Curling, held October 28 - 30, 2022 at the Kamloops Curling Club in Kamloops, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Sato won 6-2 over Sebastien Robillard (Port Coquitlam, BC) in the semifinals of the 2022 Kamloops Crown of Curling in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada; and won 6-1 over Calder Fadden (Kamloops, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2022 Kamloops Crown of Curling in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Sato finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sato defeated Denis Sutton (Victoria, BC) 8-0, then went on to lose 6-1 against Wes Craig (Nanaimo, BC). Sato lost 6-2 to Jason Montgomery (Victoria, BC) where Sato responded with a 5-2 win over Sean Geall (New Westminster, BC). Sato won 4-1 against Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Kamloops Crown of Curling Championship title, Sato earned 15.000 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque. Sato move up 29 spots after posting a net gain of 14.25 points improving upon their best 3 results so far this season, ranking 85th overall with 38.079 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Sato ranks 49th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 32.250 points earned so far this season.
