Seungyoun Ha (Chuncheon, KOR) lost 6-4 to Yu Han (Beijing, CHN) in the Final of the World University Games: Lake Placid 2023, held January 13 - 21, 2023 in Lake Placid, New York. To advance to the championship game, Ha won 10-4 over Fay Henderson (Dumfries, GBR) in the semifinals
 
Ha finished 8-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ha defeated Abby Marks (Edmonton, CAN) 6-5, then won 7-5 against Sae Yamamoto (Sapporo, JPN) and 7-6 against Delaney Strouse (Minneapolis, USA). Ha went on to lose 5-2 against Henderson. Ha responded with a 11-1 win over Australia's Kirby Gill. Ha won 15-1 against Carmen Perez (San Sebastian, ESP), then won 6-5 against Emma Moberg (Stockholm, SWE) and 5-3 against Corrie Huerlimann (Zug, SUI). Ha won 8-6 against Han in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the World University Games: Lake Placid 2023, Ha take home 13.750 world rankings points. Ha move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 1 points improving upon their best 6 results so far this season, ranking 22nd overall with 132.215 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
