To advance to the championship game, Irwin won 1-0 over Kohsuke Hirata (Kitami, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2023 MCT Atkins Curling Supplies Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; and won 1-0 over Jordon McDonald (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 MCT Atkins Curling Supplies Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada;
Irwin finished 3-1 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Irwin defeated Australia's Jay Merchant 1-0, then went on to lose 1-0 against Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB). Irwin responded with a 1-0 win over Jace Freeman (Virden, MB). Irwin won 1-0 against Hirata in their final qualifying round match.
