Hayato Sato (Sapporo, JPN) lost 10-2 to Shinya Abe (Sapporo, JPN) in the Final of the ADVICS Cup, held August 24 - 27, 2023 at the Tokoro Curling Club in Kitami, Japan. Sato finished 3-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sato lost 9-3 to Ohno, then responded with a 8-2 win over Shunta Kobayashi (Sapporo, JPN). Sato won 6-1 against Ryo Aoki (Sapporo, JPN). Sato went on to lose 4-3 against Abe. Sato responded with a 9-3 win over Hiroyuki Honda (Kitami, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

For week 5 of the event schedule, Sato did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 41st to 42nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 92.000 total points.
