Anton Hood (Naseby, NZL) won 8-4 over Sean Becker (Naseby, NZL) in the Final of the New Zealand National Championships, held June 14 - 18, 2023 in Naseby, New Zealand. To advance to the championship game, Hood won 7-3 over Peter De Boer (Naseby, NZL) in the semifinals of the 2024 New Zealand National Championships in Naseby, New Zealand;

Hood finished 6-1 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hood defeated Peter Becker (Naseby, NZL) 12-4, then won 12-2 against William Becker (Naseby, NZL) and 14-1 against Darcy Nevill (Naseby, NZL). Hood won 6-2 against Garion Long (Naseby, NZL). Hood went on to lose 6-3 against De Boer. Hood responded with a 8-2 win over Becker. Hood won 9-3 against Dave Watt (Naseby, NZL) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the New Zealand National Championships Championship title, Hood earned 3.750 world rankings points. Hood gained 18.938 points improving upon their best 2 events, though dropped 141 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 141stplace overall with 18.938 total points. Hood ranks 7th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.750 points earned so far this season.
