Johnson Tao (Edmonton, CAN) won 7-4 over Wesley Wendling (Wausau, USA) in the Final of the World Junior-B Curling Championships, held December 14 - 19, 2023 in Lohja, Finland. To advance to the championship game, Tao won 7-4 over William Becker (Naseby, NZL) in the semifinals of the 2024 World Junior-B Curling Championships in Lohja, Finland; and won 6-4 over Axel Landelius (Mjoelby, SWE) in the quarterfinals. of the 2024 World Junior-B Curling Championships in Lohja, Finland;
 
Tao finished 4-2 in the 22-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tao lost 6-3 to Eduard Nikolov (Kyiv, UKR), then responded with a 11-2 win over Selahattin Eser (Erzurum, TUR). Tao won 7-2 against Aidos Alliyar (Almaty, KAZ). Tao went on to lose 6-3 against Ryo Aoki (Sapporo, JPN). Tao responded with a 7-5 win over Matthaus Hofer (Kitzbuehel, AUT). Tao won 7-2 against Antoni Frynia (Lodz, POL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the World Junior-B Curling Championships Championship title, Tao earned 7.500 world rankings points. For week 22 of the event schedule, Tao did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 65th place on the World Ranking Standings with 54.914 total points. Tao ranks 75th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 30.750 points earned so far this season.
