Vitor De Melo (Sao Paulo, BRA) finished 2-4 in the 22-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, De Melo defeated Benjamin Holcombe (Kent, ENG) 8-6, then won 8-7 against Ching Nam Cheng (Hong Kong, HKG). De Melo went on to lose 10-3 against Jacob Schmidt (Hvidovre, DEN). De Melo lost 10-4 to William Becker (Naseby, NZL). De Melo lost 10-5 to Wesley Wendling (Wausau, USA). De Melo lost 5-4 to Roberts Buncis (Riga, LAT) in their final qualifying round match.

De Melo earned 0.750 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
