Sakura finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sakura defeated Rin Suzuki (Aomori, JPN) 8-4, then went on to lose 16-0 against Kotoka Segawa (Morioka, JPN). Sakura responded with a 6-5 win over Tomomi Noguchi (Tohoku, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

With their fourth place finish at the Tohoku Curling Championships, Sakura take home 1.500 world rankings points. For week 20 of the event schedule, Sakura did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Sakura ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
