Montgomery won 6-5 against Brent Pierce (New Westminster, BC). Montgomery went on to lose 8-2 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). Montgomery lost 7-4 to Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
