Stoughton finished 3-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Stoughton lost 5-2 to Jacobs, droppimg another game, 9-2 to McEwen where Stoughton responded with a 6-2 win over Mark Kean (Toronto, ON). Stoughton won 5-2 against Peter De Cruz (Geneve, SUI), then won 7-4 against Jim Cotter (Kelowna/Vernon, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the The National Championship title, Stoughton earned 40.000 world rankings points along with the $23,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 5th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 25 after improving upon their best so far this season. Stoughton ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 214.350 points earned so far this season.
