Selena Kaatz (Winnipeg, MB) lost 7-6 to Shannon Birchard (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the MB Canola Junior Women's Championship, held January 3 - 7, 2013 in Brandon, Manitoba.

Kaatz finished 6-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kaatz defeated Jennifer Curle (Minnedosa, MB) 7-3, then won 11-3 against Jesse Iles (The Pas, MB) and 9-1 against Raina Syrnyk (Gilbert Plains, MB). Kaatz won 6-3 against Abby Ackland (Victoria Beach, MB), then won 8-5 against Christine MacKay (Winnipeg, MB). Kaatz went on to lose 7-5 against Beth Peterson (Victoria Beach, MB). Kaatz responded with a 8-3 win over Rachel Burtnyk (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

. For week of the event schedule, Kaatz did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kaatz ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
