Kim went on to lose 11-9 against Lene Nielsen (Hvidovre, DEN). Kim lost 11-2 to Bingyu Wang (Harbin, CHN). Kim lost 8-4 to Yilun Jiang (Harbin, CHN) where Kim responded with a 9-3 win over Chelsea Carey (Winnipeg, CAN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the China Open Championship title, Kim earned 11.250 world rankings points, moving up 129 spots the World Ranking Standings into 59th place overall with 11.675 total points. Kim ranks 22nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 11.250 points earned so far this season.
