John Epping (Toronto, ON) won 7-1 over Ontario's Chris Gardner in the Final of the Village of Taunton Mills Gord Carroll Curling Classic, held November 13 - 16, 2014 at the Whitby Curling Club in Whitby, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Epping won 3-2 over Ian MacAulay (Ottawa, ON) in the semifinals of the 2014 Village of Taunton Mills Gord Carroll Curling Classic in Whitby, Ontario, Canada; and won 7-4 over Shannon Beddows (Cannington, ON) in the quarterfinals.
Epping finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Epping defeated Jim Bell (Toronto, ON) 7-2, then won 8-2 against Joe Frans (St Thomas , ON) and 6-1 against Ontario's Mark Kean in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Village of Taunton Mills Gord Carroll Curling Classic Championship title, Epping earned 11.950 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 7th place overall with 189.844 total points. Epping ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 116.025 points earned so far this season.
