To advance to the championship game, Schlender won 6-4 over Robert Collins (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2014 Original 16 WCT Bonspiel in Calgary, Alberta; and won 9-5 over Alexey Tselousov (St-Petersburg, RUS) in the quarterfinals.

Schlender responded with a 5-3 win over Thomas Scoffin (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

For week 11 of the event schedule, Schlender did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 86th to 88th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 13.351 total points.
