Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) won 6-1 over Kyle Smith (Perth, SCO) in the Final of the Mercure Perth Masters, held January 8 - 11, 2015 in Perth, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Gushue won 6-2 over Peter De Cruz (Geneva, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2015 Mercure Perth Masters in Perth, Scotland; and won 7-1 over Greg Balsdon (Hamilton, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2015 Mercure Perth Masters in Perth, Scotland;
Gushue finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Scotland's Graham Shaw 7-2, then won 8-5 against Pete Fenson (Perth, SCO) and 7-2 against Heath McCormick (Blaine, USA). Gushue won 6-5 against De Cruz in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Mercure Perth Masters Championship title, Gushue earned 20.950 world rankings points along with the $10,898CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 3rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 14.95 after improving upon their best so far this season. Gushue ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 174.950 points earned so far this season.
